Introducing Ak0pian

Ak0pian, whose real name is Gregory Gaddoni, is a 30-year-old musician. Greg started experimenting with electronic devices with the first sampler driven by an atari sequencer when he was a teenager and hip hop,breakdance and graffiti was his main social activities. Greg write the first lyrics and play with an instrumental hip hop band. Matter of fact the first production was hip hop/trip hop beats and only subsequently he focused on other styles influenced by jungle music and deep house. The production since 1999 is fat, with a lot of tunes composed and many influences. Under different names Greg compose from deep house to drum and bass passing true melodic electronic tunes collecting ambiental concrete samples and recording his old out of tune guitar. Lately, the production still maintain the atmosferic padded sound with leads he likes plus some dub influences and..weather forecasting melodies.

It was a long road to the record but now everything is done and Technology Gap 001 – Breitbandkater is finely available at our shop. We would like to thank a few people how make this projekt possible: First of all Oliver for his patience in the process of making this record and of course for his great music. Mehmet for the awesome vocal performance on Wonder Why. We are looking forward to more tracks from the tow of you. Andy for the big support in the production process. To Lukas for the fantastic artwork. A shout out goes to Pierre and Jozef from Morning Factory for the fine remix of Warm and Wet. And last but not least to Carsten who did a fresh mastering of the tracks. Once again thank you all for making a dream come true.

Sarah Donnelly is a powerful vocalist who learned to sing growing up in church and school choirs.After teaching herself to play guitar at age fourteen she began to write and perform her own material in her teens and twenties.She quickly saw the need to develop and work with other players to further her sound and vision.This work culminated in the self-released “Lilly” in 2001.The sound ranges from minimal soul to raucous rock n roll,all in support of her unmistakable and unforgettable voice.While continuing to expand a local northwest Ohio fan base,playing venues such as Culture Clash Records, Howard’s Club H,Mickey Finn’s Pub and Easystreet cafe,she is pushing to expand into larger markets for performances as well as recording. We are looking forward to her EP on our new Sub Label “Modularfield Akustik”. More informations about all this amazing stuff in the near future.

A couple of days ago a email reached me from down under. Including this fresh track above. The tune is called “Air”. The guys say: “The sounds are brighter, the vocals are bigger…and we’re a bit clearer on what we want to sound like. Washed disco-ee drums, big melodic synths and vocals…and overall just a bit more aggressive in our approach. We’ve added a bit of “fuck it, we feel it so lets just work with that” vibe to our writing and we’re loving just working through it together. We’ve been listening to everything from James Blake to Stevie Wonder to Surfer blood…it’s all in there, look out for a release / gigs in July / August”. I totally agree and i hope you to!

Born from the wish to present electronic music live, an open stage for live acts was founded in Hannover. They are Andi Arbeit, Baumfreund, Matei, Taschenrechnermusikant and last but not least Wenzel. This release will be a 7 Track LP with impressions from the Open Synth Jam Session. And thats what it is a live project playing improvised electronic music. Some times laid back and some times straight for the dance floor.
