Welcome to the third “Modularfield Gallery” feature with Brian Day. Mr. Day was born and raised in the Detroit area and focused on architecture from high school until midway through college when he switched career paths to Information Technology. He was always dabbled in graphic design and had a great interest in cinematography, but did not pick up a camera to seriously pursue the fundamentals of film and digital photography until last year. You can truly see his focus on Detroit and the abandoned places of the city.
“Living in a city with a rich architectural and industrial history, it is a tragedy to see much of it lost due to economic hardship and abandonment, so my interests were immediately drawn to the urban landscape – where it’s been, and where it’s headed, from my perspective. I’ve had the privilege of learning from many talented photographers and developing my own style.”
After he shooting quite a bit of high dynamic range images in 2009 but for 2010 he look forward to shooting more film than digital.
“I’d also like to broaden my subject matter, and continue to learn more about the art of photography.”
But for now we hope you enjoy thees brilliant HDR Images of Detroit City.
